This painting truly is the window to my dreams
Every time I look at this painting (which is multiple times a day), I feel hopeful. I am reminded of all the possibilites that lie ahead, of my dreams and plans and of how I should never give up.
I see the painting, so aptly named “Fenêtres des Songes”, and it reminds me of Mathilde’s inspirational path to becoming the wonderful artist she is today. It makes me think of the value that lies in the creation of art, both in terms of what it means to the artist but also in what it gives to the viewer.
This painting truly is the window to my dreams, and it is like a guiding light to me, a gentle and beautiful reminder that we can and should value, cherish and pursue our selves and our dreams.
Like muses gently whispering artistic encouragement
The artwork I have from the talented Mathilde are each distinctive, yet each provides me with a fundamental element: Light.
They are like a treasure chest full of an array of elements waiting to be discovered. Each time I glance at them either from a far or up close, I find something new in them that speaks to me, altering from how I feel or where I am at the moment in my own discovery. The layers offer this wonder and depth that is comforting and at the same time exposes you to the emotions within: joy, longing, love, loss, grief or grounding.
Two of Mathilde’s pieces sit at my writing desk. The other painting hangs above my piano. It is not a coincidence they take space in the most creative areas of my home. It’s because they offer me light, inspiration and guidance as I create. Like muses gently whispering artistic encouragement.
Great statement piece for any room
I absolutely love Mathilde’s work. She is such a talented artist and her paintings are very commanding – they make a great statement piece for any room.
I absolutely love this painting that is displayed in our dining room. I have had many questions over the years from visitors (when we could have them) about the origins of the painting and I love telling them how I ended up with it.
My children know the story of the painting very well too and my daughter absolutely adores it – she is an aspiring artist (at 8 years old) and sits under this painting when she is drawing. The painting is abstract with the most beautiful colours.
Mathilde paints from the heart and the soul and this is so apparent in her work. Mathilde is hugely talented and once we finish our house this year I’d love to purchase more of Mathilde’s work.
Mathilde is also a super nice person, easy to deal with and has great artistic vision.
Glorious sunny colours
We are the proud owners of three of Mathilde’s paintings. The first one we got bears the title ‘Soleil couchant par hasard’. We placed it at the top of the stairs, and now we climb up with the glorious sunny colours greeting us.
The colours of ‘Commencement’ are strong and powerful. The message I feel when I look at the picture is ‘anything is possible’.
The newest one – a present for my 70th birthday – is called ‘Winterreise 2’. It reminds us of an autumn forest: golden trees against the clear blues of sky and water. We love trees!
