I’m very excited to report that I’ll be exhibiting two dozens of my larger paintings (1m x 1m or 40″ x 40″) in the beautiful public halls of the Altonaer Rathaus in Hamburg for 3 weeks from 3 to 21 December 2018, as a cooperation with the foundation hem-Stiftung.

Earlier this year, I led a lovely workshop with the parents of boys affected by the Duchenne muscle dystrophy organised by the foundation (read more here). Further discussions with the foundation board led to this lovely collaboration to help raise awareness of the work of the foundation and funds to support research.

I’ll be showing some of my paintings from 2015 to 2018 on the theme of “Feeling the Light” and I’m aiming to help raise money for the charity by offering one of my limited edition prints from the painting above (value €275) in a raffle during the vernissage which will be on 6 December 2018 at 6pm. I will also donate €100 for each painting sold during the exhibition. So, if you are in Hamburg on Thursday 6 December, please come and support the foundation or visit the exhibition between Monday 3 and Friday 21 December 2018 (opening hours . If you’re thinking of coming to the vernissage, kindly let me know by emailing me at mathilde@mathildeberry.com.

It’s for a good cause: to support research to find a cure to this currently incurable disease that is Duchenne.

This exhibition will be my second solo exhibition since 2016 and third exhibition this year.

If you’ve missed the previous ones, you can get a glimpse of the other exhibitions that I was part of so far below:

  • my first ever solo exhibition in the Marschnerstrasse Theatre in Hamburg in February 2016
  • my first group exhibition at Galeríeka in Hamburg from May to July 2017 – see more details here
  • my second group exhibition at Galeríeka in Hamburg from January to March 2018 – see more details here
  • my third group exhibition with Galeríeka on the premises of a bank at the heart of Eppendorf in Hamburg

I will be involved in a performance with music and voice involving my artwork in January 2019 and will also have at least one more group exhibition in Hamburg next year… Stay tuned for these updates by subscribing to my newsletter here.
